On Maundy Thursday . – the day before Good Friday -- we remember Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples.
Our Maundy Thursday observances include a Seder Supper which commemorates the Jewish people's freedom from bondage in Egypt and explores the Hebrew roots of the Christian service of Holy Communion.
We gather, as the extended family of the Body of Christ, to share a meal. We acknowledge that we belong to one another because of the blood of the Lamb, shed for all people.
St. Philip’s will be having our annual Seder Supper at Emmanuel Baptist Church (our basement just isn’t big enough to have the meal here) on April 1. We want as many of the congregation as possible to be a part of this important evening. The gathering is for everyone, - young and old. There are sign-up sheets in the church entrance. We ask that you let us know:
Sign up today and let us know that you plan on joining us.
The meal is followed by a Eucharist Service here at St. Philip’s at
8:30 PM, which concludes with the traditional, stark and very moving Stripping of the Altar.
Seder Supper - April 1 at 6:00 PM It’s for everyone!
