Rick Sandberg

Captain Rick Sandberg has been working in partnership with the Anglican Church Army to minister to Victoria's street youth since 1986. Working with homeless people here in Victoria, StreetHope is providing a means to bring meaningful words and works of the Gospel to street level.

St Philip takes an active role in supporting the work of StreetHope, participating in this ministry through prayer, donations of food and financial support. which goes toward Rick's salary.

One of StreetHope's active ministries is the Shoebox Ministry and it is possible to make food donations in the Narthex of the church. When items accumulate, volunteers pack the shoeboxes and deliver them to Rick. Examples of donations include small pudding, applesauce or fruit packs, granola/cereal bars, dry soups or noodles, peanuts, small juice boxes, hot chocolate packages and chocolate bars.

This is a very active and much needed local ministry in which to participate.
